So I finally have some time to breathe today and figured i'd write about grad school. Well i came in thinking it would be like undergrad, but i guess its a bit different. I'm here learning because i want to, and not because i'm paying for it. Courses are a bit more challenging than rpi which is what i was looking for, but they're also annoying. I guess thats what grad school is, its more theoretical than numerical in terms of the problems that we face. The new graduate students and I are trying our best to adjust to this new atmosphere. What surprises me the most is the age groups of graduate students, here i am basically a "baby" when I compare myself agewise with the new grad students. Some of them are married, some of them are not married but have been in industry for a few years, or just in general in their mid 20's.

Campus is beautiful, I could walk around it forever because there is just soo much to see. Its just really hot but i think the fall/winter season will be pretty nice here compared to the harsh winters at RPI.

I guess these are some quick reflections from life at grad school, will try to get on here more often?

Done With Classes

Hello All,

I am done with CLASSES forever at rpi! it was 2 days ago but only got time to post this now. Its been forever since i posted as well. I was having fun these past 2 days. and today is one of the few days i get to breathe. Graduation is on the 29th, only final is on the 20th. Thanks again and i'll write after graduation.

RPI has been wonderful to me this past 3 years. Soo many good memories and and soo many people that i met. Its gonna be sad to leave but everyone has to move on with their life at some point. I'm just leaving one year early thats all. Long standing friendships will last a for a long time as distance won't matter. I'm gonna miss RPI... it hasn't officially struck me yet. It will soon i know that.

Wow, Its finally here... the semester i've been waiting for my whole life? to get out and see the real world... wow. Its actually kind of sad that i'm going to be leaving but at the moment i'm just living up every moment here at rpi. Enjoying my time, classes and all that jazz.

However it does seem like things aren't flowing right, maybe its me or just that i'm expecting other things. I have no clue, but hey i'll fight through it. its only the first week of the semester. Lots of things will change in these 13 weeks, so i'm just hoping for the best. I have lots of free time but its just htat everyone is super busy this semester as well, just have to keep myself occupied and i'm good.

SO long for now, i shall be on here more often.

Oh man i love this weekend or more so this week. It all started when i got my signals and systems test back on friday, i thought i did bad. but i ended up beating hte average by 15 points =D. so that wasn't a downer of a weekend. and then I went to a friends b-day party on fri nite, that was interesting and i met and hung out with some of my friends. was pretty good, and then of course today i went out to lunch with a few friends and then hung out with a friend for a long time in the evening. so yeah i have done like 0 work this weekend so far, but i don't have much to do this week. i could get ahead in some classes, but thats what sunday is for. anyways happy Halloween all and have fun!

Looked really good at the end when she went through a conversion after Maddy finally loved her. This song has a nice beat and easily one of her earlier hits.

Hello World again,

I'm back to my blogging days. Sitting in class now but now just chilling and learning my networking. So about 1/2 way through the semester and so far everything is going well. of course i'm busy doing work as normal but whatever thats what i do for fun. The other day a friend of mine asked what i do for fun... well it comes down to a few things i guess. I love using my chatting clients a lot (i mean a lot), i have log sizes of conversations with some friends for 1-2 megabytes. worth of text <-- that is a lot of text and took years of conversations, in terms of some people a few months. Other things i do to keep me occupied is to watch a lot of Youtube... as u probably have seen in my blog with the random youtube posts. I watch/follow sports as well and keep up with my tamil movies.

You may wonder where my socializing/having fun is? well about that... i keep in touch with my friends, they know i'm busy. They know i'm there for them as needed. Like the other day a friend of mine was looking for a job, and i decided to help her out. so its just that i'm there for them and i may not hang out with them a lot, they just gotta know that i'm there and just ridiculously busy. Its not like i go out and party every weekend (or do i? ... just kidding). i keep myself busy and keep myself occupied so i can just go and do my work and get it over with. Youtube, AIM, Sports are just my ways of relaxing. Some people think that me talking to my friends only when they need me is me being used. but i don't consider it that way, more so just me being busy, if i wasn't busy i would hang out with them more (a lot more).

Well plan for the rest of the semester:
-Pass CCNA
-Register for Classes
-Pass BSCI
-Get Good Grades
-Relax and have fun.

wow, 4th semester already? well ya it is gone by fast. i just hope to keep up the work and what not. and hopefully i do well. Seems like it's going to be the most challenging semester but i think i can handle it. after this semester, classes should get a bit easier as the only 'tough' classes i hve to go through are S&S and PEA. but everything is else is networking and IHSS. this semester is the last of the 'useless' classes of OS, CANOS, Dynam. Circuits is cool but i know its gonna be a tough class. well should be a good semester.

Its been a while since I posted. But my third semester ended, and it went well. All my classes ended on a positive note and best of all my IED group won the robotics competition. Easily one of my best academic semesters of all time, recieved a great GPA boost, which is always helpful. I had a lot of fun this semester. The Third Semester

Hey everyone! I'm back here at RPI, chilling and enjoying myself. Really busy semester with 20 cr's 8 hrs of TAing and 3 clubs. Its a toonnnnn of fun. well not really.

This semester i am taking a major test of balancing everything and time management, but i have to cut out some fun activities. some of them include hanging with friends on weekdays and going to the gym (i really want to go, stupid school work). having a lot of fun doing work and TAing tho. Classes are interesting/easy/busy work.

I've caught up with a lot of people this semester whether it be here at RPI, back home or far away (thank you Aim, Facebook) and i feel confident in my ability to maintain these friendships.

My apartment is really nice, its 4 of us in single bedrooms + a kitchen, lounge and bathroom. Its really nice and comfortable. I'm rarely here thanks to my schedule 8Am to 6Pm... ugh. but thats what i get for signing up for all this right?

Well i'll post more as things happen, but as of now nothing interesting has happened.

Celtics - Camp starts soon and we will win #18 this yr
Sox - here come the playoffs!
Pats - Lost season (brady injury) but we get to see what we have and reevaluate the roster, hopefully everything else holds up and we realize our flaws. In Belichek I trust!

Summer Evaluation and Thoughts

Ah Summer 2008, I can't believe it's over already, it seems like just yesterday i wrote my previous post (well actually this break felt really long but it also felt really good.) It gave me time to recharge, from a grueling 2 semesters which consisted of me doing a lot of work. Well this is how i spent my summer and random thoughts i have about it:

Work - The main thing that occupied my summer is my internship. I was working for a company about 40 mins away so it was a lot of driving, but it was a great experience. Work experience is invaluable so i'll take anything i can get and of course i met a lot of really cool people, interns, managers, coworkers they were all pretty chill. Overall: A

Playing Sports - Well going into the summer i had really high expectations about playing a lot of basketball and sports in general. The summer started off well, we tried to play everyday, and it worked out really well. Then all of a sudden it stopped. it seemed like we took like a 2 month hiatus or something. That threw me off a bit, but its alright everyone was busy working. End of the summer we played again, i lost some of my touch but it was still really good. However i joined a bowling league this summer and i improved my bowling average by a large margin. I started off with a 97 average for a week, but by the end of the year i could hit 115-125 no problem. Overall: B

Social - This is where it gets crazy, in one hand socially i had a really great time this summer. OTOH, maybe not so much. This is the part that has been bothering me, a lot, but i don't feel like writing about it immediately, it has to take some time to settle. Overall: Incomplete

Reflections and Thoughts after Freshman Year

Wow that was incredibly fast, i mean really fast. Just seemed like yesterday I moved into RPI and started my "new" life here in college, but i guess time does fly when you are busy and having fun. I have learned a lot more this past school year than any other school year that i have attended. I learned more about myself, American Culture, and i have become a completely different person than when I entered this place. This year definitely had its ups and downs as you guys have prolly read on previous posts here about college.

Random things about college that surprised/i learned about myself:

1. I've come to grips with the idea that i don't care what others think of me, its one of those little things in high school i wanted to implement, but i just couldn't. Here in college i got that clean slate that i wanted and i fully reach my potential on the way i want to be. That worked amazingly. Some of my friends say that i have no dress sense meaning i wear the same thing everyday, (t-shirt and pants). i don't care what i look like, i wear whats comfortable.

2. I realized i have become waaaaaaay more social than i was in high school which is always a good thing.

3. I have had some experiences here that have made me mentally and emotionally stronger, and witnessed events and seen friends go through some tough times that have made me understand the real world a bit more than i had in high school.

4. My Highschool has prepared me really well for college and its challenges, i keep up with my work and and use my solid but not spectacular work ethic to keep my grades up. My friends say i work too much, but its just me i don't feel prepared going into a test not studying even if i need a 50 in it to get an A. Its just the way Westford Academy has taught me. They also prepared me well for some intro topics in College, thank you AP teachers and of course Math Team for teaching me the fundamentals of permutations and combinations.

5. I have lost a lot of weight here in college and i attribute it to the wonderful food by RPI dining halls. Meaning its soo bad that i eat about 3 meals a day and still don't put on weight as nothing beats a home cooked meal. NOTHING. and also helped by the fact that i do intense physical activity at least 4 times a week.

6. How naive i was in high school. I come here to find out things that were going on at High school but i dind't know about. Little to my knowledge it did go on in Highschool.

7. I am really good in keeping in touch with people, i have kept close friendships and maintained connections in high school friend groups, family friend groups, summer @ brown groups, and College friends. its a tough balance but that along with my studies i can pull off.

Thats just some of my reflections on freshman year, soo many changes but i'm glad i came here to RPI. I'm excited for this summer and next semester as well.

Summer - i have an internship and i'll be able to see some of my friends who i havn't seen in over a year.
Fall - Housing situation is amazing, and classes are gonna be amazing

What am i thinking, i don't know

The most bizarre thing happened today. A bunch of us decided to go and play basketball. All of a sudden i had the biggest adrneline rush, the bad kind. I decked a friend of mine going for the ball. Dove for the ball and almost clipped another friend's knees. I basically took my all-out style to a new level, but it was a more angry level... I dunno what fueled that anger. I deeply regret what happened. Second of all i took cheap shots today... why?

What caused me to go on that angry rage? I have no idea. I said things like i don't want to lose, and losing is bad and what not. I feel like my actions today made me lose the team. I let the emotions get the best of me. However after deep thought, i have found a few sources for my anger.

Source #1: I feel like i've underachieved out there on the basketball court. I feel like i'm letting my team down, not being able to score consistantly, not being able to shoot, not being able to play point guard, not being able to be a leader, not being able to play defense. Hence that is driving me emotionally crazy, i know for a fact that i can play better and i've been working on it.
but i still see no sign of improvement. I want to help the team but i feel like at the moment i'm rather useless to the team, more over i do more bad than good out there.

Source #2: Losing close games because of my game management. i have made some very poor decisions out there trying to win games, keep the team together, mainitaining friendships, giving everyone playing time. Balancing all that is a bit tough, but i'm learning on the job.

Source #3: I feel like i'm missing something, i dunno what. But over the course of the last week something is missing. i spend the last weekend in my room watching movies instead of hanging with the usual crew. I dunno, i guess i'm feeling homesick a bit? i do talk to friends from back home a lot, even though i feel well connected with my friends here, it dosn't seem the same like it was back home. We'll see how it goes from here on out. i have to get used to the differences between here and Westford.

Source #4: relationships mess things up, i've noticed that. it rips ppl from their friends. Friends throw their true friends away when they have girlfriend/boyfriend, the ones who were there for them when they needed support. The same friends who you hung out with daily you forget about completele. my friend the other day asked me "Wait since when do you guys play basketball at 10:30 at night?", we've been playing late every day for about a week. I told him, "way to be observant and forget about your friends." (he has a gf and has completly forgotten about us)... WHY? i'm not that mean, i don't take cheap shots usually. There's that and other things, i dunno. I feel sorta lost? confused? maybe. but i'm in the process of figuring out what i want to do. Being a grown up in an adult world is rather different and annoying but i'm learning on the job.

Source #5: People not keeping their promises. People make bets, say things that they believe they'll keep. they even put money on it, but in turn they don't keep their word. My friend put up an "ultimatum" and he didn't keep his word. he put money on bets and didn't pay up (not with me but others). Why can't people stay true to their word.

Source #6 - i have no idea. there might be more.

There we go, little insight into my world. Lets go BARH Chambered Nautilus, we're 0-3 but we'll get them this week. I will bring my intensity, but not to the point it was today. i'll attempt to tone it down a bit. for all you tigger fans out there, TTFN (ta ta for now).

Happy V-Day/Singles Awarness Day

Hello all, i havn't written in here in so long. (about a month now). Well everything is going well. I just had a busy week and it finished. Nowadays i'm freer than usal now. I've been watching a couple movies and there are some very good ones out there. BARH drama, ha is very funny again. Of course nothing involving me (i've been out of it forever now) but more involving my friends. i have been keeping in touch with friends from back home and reconnecting broken friendships, its been fairly interesting.
Things that i've done over the past few weeks included dancing for the first time ever on my birthday on jan 19th. That was loads of fun. I enjoyed that a lot. I've been relaxing a lot, thinking, and writing. Thinking about life in general, am i happy where i am? yes of course. its a fun time.
Other things i've done i've written an e-mail that was 5 pgs long double spaced and 1" margins (MLA style). that was one of the most beastly e-mails i've written. here's an excerpt from that e-mail.

"I explained the process of arranged marriage to my friends, at least for me this is what would happen. My parents pick out ppl and then talk to their parents. If they are interested they have the guy and girl meet up at one of each others house and are given the opportunity to talk somewhere, whether it be a walk/dinner/room. It’d be more of an arranged date and you make a decision based on that one date. I told them I’d have a list of questions to ask the girl, ranging from her view on life, her past, and what she think of me at the end. And of course if she’s had any past relationships or anything of that matter. Of course I’d be honest and tell her about my past (as little as it may be). If both of us are honest in the first place, that’s a start you kno. If other things match up well and I’ll be set. But they don’t understand. My friends don’t get the fact that talking to someone ranging from 10 mins to 2 hrs can help you decide if you want to spend the rest of your life with them. Well put it this way I believe it can. If you ask the right questions then u can decide it works doesn’t it?"

That is an excerpt i beleive is pretty cool. It explains most things that i talk about. well thats it for blogging for now, nothing seems to come to me as emotionally i've got nothing to write about other than the fact that i am against v-day. if u love someone u tell them that everyday instead of just one day. you know? well i'm gonna play b-ball soon i'll blog later!

Wow wow wow, ya thats my reaction at the moment on something i heard. very unexpected to hear that but i did. BARH drama and its turns. wow wow wow. y is there soo much drama amongst us freshman, the RA's, LA's and students know about it. Our LA came by and was like wow y is there soo much going on.

We need our own TV show, but i'm gonna start documenting things i've heard and know somewhere like a journal because everything will be funny to read many times over and over again. i'll prolly start writing it soon for fun, because this freshman year is very memorable. and its something i want to keep forever. :D

Ya thats the title for this post. i love whats going on right now at BARH! very intersting twists and turns. For not being in the middle of any of it or part of any of it i'm loving the laughter it provides. Its making me happier watching how crazy things get here at BARH. We need our very own tv show as right now the only thing that we have documenting whats going on is our minds. maybe a journal entry or article about what goes on would be funny.

I heard great news today that made BARH drama even better and more funny. HA HA HA. ya its soo funny. very unexpected but it happend. wow. wow. wow. wow.

Not my greatest piece of writing but w/e. I'm still really estatic.

Beginning of Second Semester

First post of the New Year! Classes started today and so far its going well. I have a few of my close friends in each class but i don't know anyone in my Calc 2 or web and database programming class. i know of ppl in my other 4 classes for the semester. I've had physics and Discrete so far today. and physics seems like a lot of work, but if i'm on top of my game i should be fine. Discrete on the other hand is optional hwk, but i know if i want to do well then i have to work hard in that class and do the work while paying attention in class, its purely logic and proofs, if i can get the grasp of those i should be fine.

Second semester is also a time for change, i have set my goals for the semester and will work hard to achieve them. Well thats it for now, gotta get back to doing some work and i'll prolly post later. BTW, BARH drama has gotten worse.

End of First semester

First semester is finally over, and now i'm home. I've been chilling and i recieved all my grades. that was some good stuff. I beleive i did well for the adjustment period and got myself on Dean's list.

I'm home relaxing, visiting friends. Going to India on Saturday to attend my sister's wedding and i'm the "best man" for that wedding. :D

I'll be back on Janurary 12th and back to RPI on the 13th and classes on the 14th. yay for jetlag. Be prepared to see me dead on sunday with jetlag. well thats it for blogging for this year

Its one of those moments (lol), i just realized I don't have to worry about trusses, moments, rigid bodies, centroids, frames, or anything like that ever again! Its a good feeling because IEA is the most pointless class at RPI for all CSE and BME majors to take. Am i ever going to take a moment about a hard drive? No. Am i going to have to find the support reactions of a CPU joint, nope not at all. Trusses + computers don't go in the same sentence. yay! NO MORE IEA!

3 more finals to go. i realized i need a 61 on my cs final to get an A. 88 on my physics Final for an A. and a 90 + on my calc guarantees an A! yay! good stuff.

No one knows anything

I played ping pong today, and the fact that no one knows whats running through my mind is good. I'm being a "rock" about myself, nothing i know about me is escaping me ever, or until i find that new comfort level with others.

As i'm sitting here in my lounge spot thinking about things i felt like blogging. so i did. and 5-10 years down the road this blog will be filled with very random things, and as i look back it will be really funny at the experiences i feel. this is my way of seeing how my senior year of highschool/college experiences have affected me in my life.

Some sports news, Celtics are the NBA's best team, Sox won the WS and now after Johan Santana, and the Pats are still undefeated. yay for boston/New England Sports. 3 championships in 4 major sports would be nice. Who knows about the Bruins?

4 Finals in 3 days starting wednesday! i should be fine until that. yay!

Being the center = bad

My second post of the day, ugh i hate this. Why did i choose to be the center of everything because its not fun. I have decided to officially be a guy on the side looking at things happening in the center, its a big mess to be in the center, and only tools/losers would aspire to be at that spot and not be happy with what you have which is the peace and quiet. I've have gotten to a point where i'm Right now sitting in my spot in the lounge with no real person to talk to about the way i feel.

If you look at friendship like a ladder and the higher up you are on a ladder the better friends you are with that person. i feel like i have dropped a lot on many of my "inner" circle friend's ladders, while they are all still up there in my friendship ladder its not the same anymore. My actions have caused this downfall, and i know its mainly my fault, but that was me trying be something i wasn't. I was experimenting on life in the center, but as i said that dosn't always work out. Now i'm back to having my normal life that I want to have which is what i had in high school. Which is have that tight inner circle of friends, and then everyone else. Without the legit inner circle and having just everyone else means you have no one to talk to about things that are bogging you down which me naturally are many things.

So now i gotta change the way i act, and such to reaccommodate myself into the college picture. Because at the moment i'm that one kid who knows everything about everyone which is nothing to be proud of. I don't want to be the "BARH INQUIRER". I want to be one of those ppl who look at the inquirer and laugh at it. Its gonna be a long and hard process to completely switch roles but i beleive i can do it. This is where i stand and i'm sticking to it. First semester of college = semester of experiments, from now onwards i'm the person that i usually am, still be that guy that talks to everyone but i'm not going to go out of my way to initiate any convo.

Ever had those feelings where you are just doing something but you have no idea why? Thats me right now. My friends have noticed me acting differently, and so have I. I seem to be "burning" ppl with random things and using cheapshots at anything that i can find. Why is this something that i have to go through.

Nowadays, in college, its hard to trust people and have someone to talk to about way i'm feeling considering that these ppl have only known you for 14 weeks/1 semester. Its really pathetic. My friends and I get along, we can talk about things but its hard to at times because they are very busy individuals as well. I'm also trying to keep these problems to myself as i don't want others to think of me as complaining. That is why i'm using this blog to vent my frustrations.

Well hopefully i can figure this out on my own, and this winter break will help me. Because i know being home for thanksgiving helped me a lot. I hope i can get settled down a bit more and i should be fine for my finals week.

New TV Series This Spring Check It Out

Hello all i'm here to tell you about a new TV series, called The Dorm: BARH special. I know there is one for cary hall but BARH's show is soo much better.

Basically, College life = lots and lots of drama. Every single person is trying to enter the college scene with a splash and having their own mysterious background, watch and learn how everyone interacts. some of these interactions are positive, such as ppl meeting new ppl and making new friends but most of these are negative with stories of rejection, miscommunication, and even the c-word.

If i could write a book about everything that's gone on and that would be a best seller. because ppl don't realize when you put a bunch of 17-18-19 year olds in the same building trying to acheive a common goal of education, but in the process they are trying have fun with their social lives, a lot of drama will happen.

Drama - i just guess i have to get used to it because right now, thats the entertainment here at RPI.

College life very interesting, i'm having a lot of fun here. i'm just enjoying my life to an extent. Some exams are tough but other than that classes are amazing. there are some things in my mind that are interesting.

I have come to the point where i have to face something monstrous by myself, not with the help of others but just me. This 1 vs 1 encounter is what has been going through my mind for many weeks but the reality of it is getting nearer. I will use everything in my power to win this encounter this includes throwing the full arsenal of knowledge that i know, and trying to use everything and anything i learned. From the time i woke up today to the time this day ended, i probably went through a hodgepodge of emotions. It started with me being very confident in my skills and that i felt invincible, to wow i got defeated, to wow i have no idea what to do/what is going on and finally, the invicibility shatters. today was my first day going through this wonderful mixture of emotions. and i'm glad it'll hopefully be my last one too. Thanks for everyone who helped me through this time. it was a great experience.

Its been a good month since i last posted on this blog. College has had its interesting turns. Me being a nice kid have gotten the nickname "tool" cuz i help everyone do homework. I've been playing a lot of ping pong / super smash/ and such that its getting too annoying to complete the loop every time.

I've gotten a brand new experience at college in terms of meeting new ppl and my social skills have increased a ton since i got here. its pretty remarkable when you ask me. because when i graduated form high school i would not have thought i would have gotten to this level once i'm at college. everyone in my dorm knows who i am or knows of me in the first month or so which is what i find really interesting.

This weekend is parents weekend at RPI and i'm excited that i have some ppl comming to visit me! yay!

in terms of the boston sports news. the sox are getting owned. the patriots are owning. the Celtics are going to own.

Lets see what else is new, well there's 2 hints at the top of the post.

After a long 2.5 month break i'm finally back to blogging. Its the dog days of summer as the only sport that runs is Baseball. The NBA has lost some fans due to the referee scandal while the NFL has put its foot down about cleaning its image by suspending many players and eventually suspending one of the NFL icons in Michael Vick. The local teams are looking good as each one of them is on a march to the playoffs or championship. Lets take a look:

Basketball - Boston Celtics
Added Ray Allen for shooting and a veteran presence. Also drafted Glen "Big Baby" Davis and Gabe Pruitt. Will compete for the Atlantic division crown this year.

Baseball - Red Sox
First in the AL East. Doing it without Manny or Ortiz producing to their potential. WS Appearance likely.

Football - Pats
Randy Moss, Adalius Thomas, and Donte Stallworth. Will win the Superbowl.

My last day of classes was today!!! No more class until college. I'm happy but also sad that WA is over. I will miss everyone who I interacted with there. Hopefully my college experience is better but for that to happen it needs to be extremely good as WA treated me well. From my first day as a freshman to my last day as a Senior, WA challenged me, and increased my knowledge. Thank You Westford Academy. I just have to take 5 exams in 4 days and i'm done with my HS career.

Finally done with 2 of my dreaded AP exams. I enjoyed Computer Science and Calculus was interesting. I walked out of both saying I did well enough to get a 4 at least. So thats a good thing. Both days got out of school around 12 and had a great time relaxing. Only 2 more days of classes as well! But i got Marine Bio project due tmo (Comp Sci Case Study) and an english project due tomorrow (30 mins of random stuff). Weekend, Cram for AP Bio, AP Psyche, and AP Physics cuz i kno i'll bomb some of the questions on them.

Ready For Liftoff in New York.... (sort of)

Yesterday the "Evil Empire" New York Yankees signed one of the all time Red Sox greats Roger Clemens and his 44 year old arm. The Yankees were floundering and shoved a total of 28 million in Clemens's face (including the luxury tax). The Sox offered 18 million but couldn't make Roger join the team. The Sox have a better shot at winning the World Series than the Yankees do this year and if they added Clemens they would own everyone in the league. At least we made the Yankees waste their money. Clemens isn't gonna be as good as he was the last 2 years in Houston because the AL has better hitters/teams and a DH. Clemens will win about 5-10 games with the yankees with a high 3 low 4 ERA but will only pitch about six innings. Last but not least, Jon Lester/Julian Tavarez will have a better season than "The Rocket".

R.I.P Josh Hancock 1978-2007

Former Red Sox pitching prodigy Josh Hancock and current St. Louis Cardinals' relief pitcher Josh Hancock passed away in a car crash today April 29, 2007. My thoughts and prayers to the Hancock family and to the St. Louis Cardinals during this tough time. No evidence of drugs or alcohol was found in the car.
Hancock was supposed to be next ace in the Sox pitching staff and they had high hopes for him. I remember him on the Sox a while back and he was traded for one of our "first base hero" Jeremy Giambi of the Philadelphia Phillies. He somehow ended up with the Cardinals and went on to win the World Series last year. He will be dearly missed by the MLB. Hancock had career statistics of 9-7, 4.20 ERA and 110 Strikeouts. Also, I respect the Chicago Cubs for postponing the Sunday Night Baseball game against the Cardinals tonight on ESPN.

NFL Draft 2007 - Trade of the Century

Yup, the Pats traded for Mr. Randy Moss of the Oakland Raiders. It cost them a measly fourth round pick (110 Overall) which the Pats received from the Niners. The Pats are looking scarier every day and now Tom Brady has two legit options at WR with Wes Welker owning the slot. Reche "My Eyes are Always Open" Caldwell, Kelly Washington, and Jabar Gaffney rounding out the WR Corps. Maroney will see plenty of open lanes to run with Moss and Stallworth on the outside. On Defense the team with Meriweather, Samuel, and co. will stop everyone and the pats have 2 picks in next year's draft to become younger at LB and CB.

Pats Trade: 1st Round (28th overall)
Pats Receive: 1st Round pick (2008) + Randy Moss

Pats Grin and run away like bandits in this draft.

Anything shy of a Super Bowl victory is a disappointment in the upcoming season.

NFL Draft 2007 - Patriots Pick #24

With the 24th Pick in the NFL the Patriots select Brandon Meriweather from the University of Miami. This immediately helps the Patriots as versatile Meriweather can cover the slot, help with the run and play centerfield. Rodney Harrison is on his last leg of his NFL career and Eugene Wilson is coming back from injury. Meriweather gives the Patriots depth in the Safety/Cornerback area. I'm excited to see the kid who is on the cover of NCAA 07 Football in a Pats uniform. The reason that Meriweather dropped this much is his character issues as he was involved in a brawl earlier in the 2006-2007 season.

The Pats traded away their 2nd first round pick to the San Francisco 49ers for a 2008 first round pick and a 2007 fourth round pick. This is a better deal for the Pats because to beat the 28th pick in the draft the niners would have to have a top 4 record in the league, that is very unlikely. As ESPN put it, Norv Turner is no longer the offensive Coordinator of the Niners which means Alex Smith needs to find that chemistry with his new offensive Coordinator. Turner created the monster known as Troy Aikman for the cowboys and he was in the process of doing that for the Smith but now head coach of the Chargerss Smith has to learn. therefore the niners will not be a top 4 team in the NFL next year and clearly making this trade better for the Pats. If Joe Staley becomes a bust then this trade will definitely favor the Pats.

Today I finally paid the deposit stating my intent to attend Boston University this fall and graduate as part of their class of 2011 or maybe even class of 2010. However, my decision is not final as I may end up going to the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor but i'll only know if i'm going there around May 15th since i have been waitlisted. I would be studying Computer Engineering at both of these schools and possibly minoring or putting a double major with Computer Science. I am really excited for next year but school has to end and i have 1 more month until that happens and plenty of things that need to be done before school's out. Wish me luck next year!

Western Conference 1st Round

(1) Dallas Mavericks vs. (8)Golden State Warriors - Golden State Leads 1-0
~Dallas in 6
Last year this team should have won the Championship and this year they want to prove themselves as the best team in the league but they seem to not enjoy playing the Warriors as they have lost 4 games this season to them. Golden State provides matchup problems throughout their lineup with Don Nelson's smallball approach. Dallas tried to counter the approach by starting George instead of Dampier but that plan did not work out so well. The speed and athleticism of the Warriors was too much for the Mavs to handle. Dallas Coach Avery Johnson will find a way to counter his mentor's coaching taking the ultra-talented Mavs to the next step of the playoffs.

(4) Houston Rockets vs (5) Utah Jazz - Rockets Lead 2-0
~Houston in 7
The rockets make their long awaited playoff return and finally have McGrady and Yao healthy. T-Mac has plenty of pressure on him to shine in these playoffs as he has never won a playoff series throughout his brilliant/injury-prone career. Yao is slowly but surely becoming the next dominant player in the NBA with his array of hook shots, jumpers, and low-post moves he is quietly becoming a force. After these two players the rockets have no one else of note. The Jazz started out of the gate quickly this season and then became a true force to be reckoned with. Lost in the hooplah of the Mavericks and Suns the Jazz quietly won 51 games this year and won the mediocre northwest division crown. Led by Carlos Boozer, Mehmet Okur, Deron Williams, and Andrei Kirilenko the Jazz have defense and a young nucleus that is ready for perennial playoff appearances. This series will be tough but I believe at the end the Jazz will make their runs to make this a series and the Rockets win game 7 at home on a McGrady 3-pointer at the buzzer 93-92.

(2) Phoenix Suns vs. (7) LA Lakers - Phoenix leads 1-0
~Phoenix in 6
No. 1 Offense vs. No 1. scorer is this series. Basically a repeat of last year's first round series as the Suns take on Kobe's Lakers. Last year the Lakers had a 3-1 series lead only to have Phoenix win the series by winning the final three games. The Lakers have a shot at winning this series based on which Kobe shows up. If its the Kobe that plays playmaker and dishes off assists and plays all-NBA defense on his man and for his team the Lakers can take the series. If its the Kobe that chucks up 35-50 shots a game en route to 50 points while his team stands around and watches then the Suns will trump the Lakers in either 4 or 5 games. I believe that the Playmaker Kobe will show up a couple times this series leading to Laker victories but it will be predominantly the shooter Kobe who puts up 40-50 points a game. The Suns also have Amare for this series unlike last year putting more pressure on laker big men inside unlike last year where the Lakers could just worry about the Suns shooters. The Suns on the wings of Steve Nash will get past the first round but it will be a hard fought and physical series.

(3) San Antonio Spurs vs. (6) Denver Nuggets - Denver leads 1-0
~San Antonio in 6
Going into the Playoffs the Nuggets were the team to beat. With the dynamic combination of Iverson and 'Melo and an excellent supporting cast of Camby, Nene, and others they looked like a championship team. The Spurs on the other hand aren't as deep or offensively skilled as the Nuggets but they do have the most fundamentally sound player in the game, Tim Duncan. Duncan can single-handedly win the series for the Spurs with a combination of rebounding, blocking shots, passing, and scoring. Though he may not be the most vocal person on the floor his energy and emotion feed into the Spurs. His supporting cast of Tony Parker, Manu, and Finley have been or are NBA All-Stars and have plenty of playoff experience and play excellent defense. The Spurs should win out in the series because Iverson has a knack of being chucker, see Kobe, and sometimes tries to take over a game by shooting the ball 30+ times instead of letting his passing skills work for him. Also Duncan, Parker, and Manu are one of the top trios of players on the same team in the NBA. Spurs will advance to the next round to play the Suns.

Western Conference Second Round

(1) Dallas Mavericks vs. (4) Houston Rockets
~Dallas in 6
Yao will cause problems this series but McGrady will have a tougher time scoring this series with Josh Howard on him. Dirk will carry the load offensively for the Mavs with Jason Terry, Harris, Stackhouse, and Josh Howard supporting him. Houston has no answer for Dirk but if i was Jeff Van Gundy I would try to play McGrady on Dirk to see if he can get up there to bother that jumper. Dallas has Dampier, Diop, Dirk, and other serviceable big men to body up on Yao and be physical with him. Therefore I give the series to Dallas since Dallas is deep and has many scoring options while the Rockets operate basically with two All-Stars and a limited supporting cast.

(2) Phoenix Suns vs. (3) San Antonio Spurs
~Phoenix in 7
Two years ago this was Amare's coming out party in the playoffs. He owned Tim Duncan in every aspect of the series but the Suns still ended up losing this series. These Suns are 2 years more experienced with the playoffs and still have two-time league MVP Steve Nash. They will dominate inside again with Amare, Marion, Diaw, and Kurt Thomas while the outside will be commanded by Nash. The Spurs will struggle at times to keep up the offensive firepower that the Suns have but in the end they will fall since the Suns, like the Mavericks are too deep and have a lot of weapons on the offensive end.

Western Conference Finals

(1) Dallas Mavericks vs. (2) Phoenix Suns
~Phoenix in 7
The NBA Finals are basically the Western Conference finals as no team in the east can match up with these two teams. Plenty of storylines here as the headliners are Nash vs. Dirk and the top two teams in the NBA squaring off against each other. Again last year the Mavericks defeated the Suns to knock them out of the playoffs and they won by have Josh Howard defend Steve Nash. That matchup worked but that meant there was another mismatch. The Suns also didn't have Amare in the post so Dallas won last year. The Suns will win the series this year because they have too much firepower compared to the Mavs and the Suns outside shooting will bury the Mavs in game seven of the series.

Phoenix represents the West in the NBA Finals.

How Sweep It Is!!!

The Red Sox have turned the tables and swept "The Evil Empire" at Fenway. The final game of the series ended Home Run Derby style as a total of six home runs were launched. Five of them for the Red Sox and one for the Yankees. In the Bottom of the 3rd Inning with the Sox down 3-0, Manny, J.D. Drew, Mike Lowell, and 'Tek went yard in a back-to-back-to-back-to-back off Yankees rookie pitcher Chase Wright and the Sox led 4-3! Dice - K Pitched well and it was a great team victory for the Sox. Top 9th, Papelbon pwns the Yankees for his 6th save in 6 chances and second of the series. He still has his sharp 0.00 ERA while his Yankees counterpart Mariano Rivera is 1-2 with a 8.44 ERA, 0 saves and 2 blown saves. The Sox sit comfortably atop the AL East with a 1.5 game lead on the Orioles and a whopping 4 game lead on the Yanks. I know its only April and the Sox are due for their June-July slump again this year, but it is a great confidence booster for this team.

Few Things I Hated From ESPN this weekend:
~Jon Miller is the worst announcer in the world, at times i wish he would have shut-up. Joe Morgan states an interesting stat when someone is batting and next time that guys bats Miller repeats what Morgan has stated but he makes it sound like he did the research.
~Jon Miller kept on confusing Hideki Okajima and Dice-K.
~Jon Miller is a Tool.
~SportsCenter after Friday's game says lets go to Boston to think what our announcers say, they play the same segment that was played after the game. At least they would state that this is what the announcers had to say.
~Baseball Tonight had a segment on Dice-K that was taken before the game started and Peter Gammons was talking about Dice-K and how he'd react to the Yankees. It was on Baseball Tonight After the Game.
~A-Rod does this, A-Rod does that. Do they care about anything else. I know that guy is a big deal but don't they realize that he'll eventually become the A-Rod we all know, batting .000 in the postseason and collapsing statistically by the end of the year?
~Many More but I bet anyone i can announce a baseball game better than Jon Miller of ESPN Sunday Night Baseball.

NBA Playoffs 2007 - Eastern Conference

As many of you know, i'm a basketball nut. I love the NBA and the Boston Celtics especially. This year i decided to make a quick NBA playoff preview with a little insight in each of the series. Lets start out East

Eastern Conference First Round

(1)Detroit Pistons vs. (8) Orlando Magic - Detroit Leads 1-0
~Prediction: Detroit in 4.
Billups and Hamilton are two players Detroit depends upon to win and these players shine the brightest in the playoffs. The experienced Pistons will tool on the Magic with the sweep while Philly fans will be wondering how Chris Webber became 10x better with the Pistons than the Sixers. Orlando also turns the ball over a lot and shoots poorly at the Free Throw line which will be their downfall.

(4) Miami Heat vs. (5) Chicago Bulls - Chicago Leads 1-0
~Prediction: Miami in 7.
The defending champs will have a hard fought series with the young and relentless Bulls but in the end it will come down to if the Bulls can have their outside shots fall consistently over a 7 - game series. The Heat can always pound it inside to Shaq, 'Zo, Antoine, and Haslem while Wade, Kapono, Jones, Posey, and Williams can make shots to free up the post for Shaq to operate on Ben Wallace.

(2) Cleveland Cavaliers vs. (7) Washington Wizards - Series tied 0-0
~Cleveland in 5
The Wizards have been decimated with injuries to their two All - Stars, Caron Butler and Gilbert Arenas, but i believe they can steal one game from the Cavs. Antwan Jamison of the Wizards is key if the wizards want to win at least one game, he is a former All - Star and if i'm not mistaken while he was with the Warriors he put up a Kobe-esque two straight games of 50+ points. If that Jamison shows up for a game or more the Wiz will win at least one game. I'm not the biggest LeBron fan in the world but he can win this series but he won't get past the second round.

(3) Toronto Raptors vs. (6) New Jersey Nets - Nets lead 1-0
~New Jersey in 6
Major storyline here is Wince Carter.. oops my bad Vince Carter returning to Toronto for a playoff series after his messy divorce with the Raptors a few years ago. The booing got to him the first game when he shot a dismal 5-19 from the field en route to 16 points. Toronto had a tough time getting adjusted to the playoff atmosphere as Chris Bosh had a horrible game offensively. It also seemed like every time Toronto cut the lead to under five points Bostjan Nachbar would nail a three to extend New Jersey's lead again. Similar to the Detroit series the Nets have plenty of playoff experience compared to Toronto.

Eastern Conference 2nd Round.

(1) Detroit Pistons vs. (4) Miami Heat
~Detroit in 7
Tayshaun Prince will shut down Wade while the Detroit Defense clamps down to slow Miami's Offense down. Miami's defense will shut down Detroit's offense as well. This series will be very defensive oriented. The team with the most depth and firepower will win. Detroit has the best 1-2 guard punch in the NBA and they can throw multiple people at Shaq such as Chris Webber, Rasheed Wallace, Antonio McDyess, Jason Maxiell, and Nazr Mohammed. They can "Hack-A-Shaq" to victory. Wade could also receive the "Jordan" treatment which is make sure Wade pays the price for trying to drive every chance he gets buy fouling him cleanly. It will be hard fought series but Miami will fall because this would be their second hard-fought series in the Playoffs while the Pistons owned their cupcake series.

(2) Cleveland Cavaliers vs. (6) New Jersey Nets
~New Jersey in 6
Cavs are too inconsistent and the Nets would be on a roll. Kidd-Carter-Jefferson will carry the load offensively for the Nets. Nets play excellent defense and run the fastbreak like no other (well 2nd to the Suns). LeBron will have a tough cover with Richard Jefferson while Jason Kidd can own the Cavs point guards even though he is 34 years old. Mikki Moore and Jason Collins are serviciable enough to put the clamps on Big Z, Varejao and Gooden. If the Nets can stop LBJ which i believe they will they will beat the Cavs and have a tough ECF against the pistons. Plus, Wince Carter won't have anyone booing him as much this series.

Eastern Conference Finals

(1) Detroit Pistons vs. (6)New Jersey Nets
~Detroit in 6
Billups vs Kidd. Carter vs. Prince. Hamilton vs. Jefferson. All three match-ups are are fair and evenly matched. but when you get to the big guys, Wallace vs. Collins, Webber vs. Moore. Direct Advantage to the Pistons. The Pistons are too good to lose now to the Nets. After this off-season the Nets will implode - they can't afford to keep Carter-Kidd-Jefferson while giving more money to Kristic and others. One of them has to go and it will most likely be Carter who can opt out of his contract and become a free agent.
